I

I think my love of colorful fabrics and threads goes back to childhood…… watching and learning from my mother who patiently taught me to use a needle and thread and a sewing machine. Although I have experimented and worked in various other forms, I'm always drawn back to fabric because there is something very gratifying about working with the colors, textures, and versatility of cloth.

Creating fabric collages is my passion, whether it be art quilts or collaged pieces on canvas with no stitching. I mostly work from inspirational photos that seem to speak or tell a story. After collecting the perfect fabrics and putting them all together on canvas, the finished pieces almost become realistic paintings. I like to describe the process as therapeutic and at the same time challenging and rewarding!

My fabric art has been exhibited at various galleries and shows throughout the country and has won numerous awards.
